2017 Miss Arkansas Pageant To Air Live To North Arkansas Viewers

Ritter Communications is excited to announce that the entire finale showcase of the Miss Arkansas scholarship pageant will broadcast live to Arkansas and Missouri Ritter TV viewers for the first time in the 80-year history of the pageant.

The finale begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 17, at the newly renovated Robinson Performance Hall in downtown Little Rock. KATV, the ABC affiliate in Little Rock, is producing the event and allowing Ritter TV customers to view the show on KATV in Northeast Arkansas on channel 99.

KATV Daybreak anchor Chris Kane and Miss Arkansas 2009 Sarah Slocum Collins will serve as pageant emcees for the three-hour live broadcast. The live show will include popular pageant segments such as the talent showcase, swimsuit, evening wear, contestant interviews and a tribute to this year’s 2017 Miss America Savvy Shields of Arkansas and the reigning 2016 Miss Arkansas Savannah Skidmore. The evening will culminate in the live crowning of the new Miss Arkansas 2017 who will go on to compete in Miss America 2018 September 10th in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

This week-long competition will conclude with one young woman walking away with a $30,000 scholarship, the largest in the pageant’s history, plus over $75,000 in prizes. The Miss Arkansas Scholarship Foundation will award over $167,000 by Saturday and a $400 scholarship will be awarded to each participant competing. The Miss America organization is the largest contributor of scholarship to women in America.
